(Yet Another) Exciting Announcement: The Directly Current Podcast!

We’re excited to announce the launch of Directly Current, a podcast from EV Politics. The talented Max Patten from Out of Spec will host, and we have some awesome guests lined up. Find more information and ways to listen below!

Directly Current is the new EV Politics podcast and will focus on topics explored in the issue ad The American EV Jobs Alliance is running. Host Max Patten worked at Out of Spec as a journalist and video producer covering the nerdy side of the industry, and now he’s ready to talk to political leaders and get the manufacturing story of how electric vehicles fit into American politics beyond the partisan stereotypes we’ve all seen before. China is knocking on our door with extremely competitive cars and we want to help fill Americans in on how dire the stakes are. Upcoming expert guests include Secretary Buttigieg and David Axelrod.

Beyond the experts are upcoming features with normal Americans living with affordable EVs. They’ve voted with their wallets and aren’t paying for gas anymore, enjoy cheaper maintenance cost, and love the silent high-torque performance. In the first episode Mike and Max discuss topics like the success Polaris has enjoyed with its Ranger XP Kinetic model — targeting it at a rural customer base who’s not swayed by green messaging that worked so well for the first EV adopters in the last decade. More companies need to understand how to market effectively and we hope to bring that message face to face by introducing the role the layman has in this transition—we’d love to hear from audiences who want to lend their perspective further.

The show is available in audio and video formats, we’re linking the big ones on YouTube and Spotify/Apple Podcasts. Listeners are encouraged to subscribe and reach out with their thoughts. Thanks for being a part of the conversation!
