EV Republicans! Get Visible!

I’ve been very happy to see so many positive comments to what we are doing with the EV Politics Project from Republicans who are happy and proud to own EVs! (Tom and I discuss a lot about that in the State of Charge interview on our home page: if you have not seen it check it out.)

There seem to be a whole lot of Republicans out there who are as tired as anybody about the endless EV bashing from far too many at the top of the GOP. Our mandate here at the EV Politics Project is threefold: 1.) better understand the reasons behind the tribal hostility driving this knee-jerk Republican attitude about EVs and counter-message it, 2.) help the leaders of the auto industry understand that marketing EVs to center-right leaning voters is a very different messaging frame from how they have presented EVs in the past and they need a big change in their strategies, and 3.) protect EVs from becoming a political punching bag during the 2024 elections; especially in key swing states like GA, MI, NC and NV which all have greatly benefited from massive investment in new EV related manufacturing.
