Big Oil Misleads on EVs

Axios is reporting that the refiners are at it again. It’s no surprise that the oil and gas industry has a vested interest in getting Americans to pay through the nose at the pump.

But this is a new low. They’re spending $3M in swing states telling misleading voters by calling EPA regulations a “ban”. It’s not true.

Mike Murphy, CEO and Founder and EV Politics Project, took issue with their approach: “This campaign is an unfortunate mix of dishonesty and greed to put money in the pockets while costing states like Michigan, Georgia, and Nevada thousands of jobs in the EV sector,” says Mike.

Feast your eyes on this desperate attempt to make EVs a political issue this fall..

Luckily, EV Politics Project is here to push back. Starting in Michigan, we’re going to highlight big oil’s greed. The average American spends $2,000 a year on gas. That money should go back into consumers pockets, not into the pockets of big oil.

And we’re also going to tell the undertold story of the thousands on manufacturing jobs the EV industry will create in Wolverine State!

Soon, ~217,000 Michigan swing voters connected to the auto industry will see this..

The EV industry is on pace to create ~18,200 manufacturing jobs in Michigan. Not enough Michiganders know that, but soon they will.

So too will Georgians, where the EV industry is set to create ~37,700 manufacturing jobs.

A similar story is playing out in Nevada, North Carolina, and Arizona. These five states account for 68% of all swing state electoral college votes. These states will see a projected ~92,100 manufacturing jobs created in their communities because of the EV industry.

So, if big oil wants to divide voters on EVs, we’re here to push back by 1.) showing that big oil is misleading to line their pockets, and 2.) telling the story of how EVs create good, high-paying manufacturing jobs in communities all across this country.

We hope you’ll help by spreading the word, donating, and wearing your EV Politics merch!
