NEWS: GOP Attacks on EVs Problematic in 2024
It’s nearly a year till the 2024 Presidential election, but early polling shows three overwhelming issues.
President Biden’s age is an issue.
Donald Trump’s character and behavior are an issue.
But the biggest issue — most likely the political jumpball to winning the election — is the economy.
So, Republicans who think attacking electric vehicles will somehow give them a winning edge in 2024 should take a good look at the latest numbers on EV investment in the United States.
The lion’s share of the new investment in EV manufacturing jobs is going to many of the important 2024 swing states such as Georgia, Nevada and Michigan, where billions are being invested in new factories and research centers and many thousands of new manufacturing jobs are being created.
My GOP friends should think through how attacking all those new jobs will work out for them next year in an election very much focused on the economy.
